SHORT HIKE 3.2 miles 600' elevation gain
best season: 1:00 drive dogs welcome A short hike in on the Pacific Crest Trail, and then up a faint climbers trail to the summit of Humboldt Peak. Mostly in red fir forest, but then emerging to open views out to Lassen Peak. 360-degree view on the summit to faraway places. From the top, can just see the tip of Mount Shasta on a clear day. This hike is in Lassen National Forest; owned by the public, managed by Lassen National Forest. Backpacking welcomed; campfires welcomed except late Summer & early Fall.
