This hike goes to an area just off the Pacific Crest Trail with a full view of Mount Shasta.  It is the closest the PCT gets to Mount Shasta.

There are several campsites with trees.  Nearby a small spring flows out of a meadow in all but the driest of years.

The hike in visits flowery Deadfall Meadows, Deadfall Lakes, and cold, fresh Red Rock Spring.

This hike is in Shasta-Trinity National Forest; owned by the public, managed by Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Backpacking welcomed; campfires welcomed except late Summer & early Fall.

No Wilderness Permits needed, a California Campfire Permit is required for campfires or gas stoves.
