EASY DAY HIKE
7.5 miles 600' elevation gain
dogs supposed to be on leash (until you cross Upper Park Road)
You start on the South Rim, descend to the ford of Big Chico Creek, and ascend to the top of North Rim on the other side.
Then descend the North Rim to Horseshoe Lake. With views across the Sacramento Valley along the way
The trails in the North Rim area are mostly substandard, this hike selects the best of the lot
The North Rim can be hot, and that restricts this hike to winter and early spring when it is green and cool
