A long walk across sunny hillsides, dipping into canyons with creeks.  Good for a sunny winter day.  Wait a few days after storms for the road to dry out, and for Bowers Creek to go down.

There is a dramatic lunch spot on a knob in the Gorge, with a good campfire spot

The hillsides are cloaked with chaparral, less common in Northern California, but common in Southern California.  Ours is comprised of Manzanita, Chamise, Scrub Oak, Toyon, Buckbrush, Silktassel, California Ash, Poison Oak, Skunkbrush, Current, Redbud, Buckeye, Holly-leaf Redberry, Spicebush, Mountain Mahogany, and Yerba Santa.  Also Canyon Liveoak, White Alder, Willow, and Foothill Pine.

We pronounce the name like the River Thames, but substitute an 'o' sound for the 'a' sound.
