Green Island Lake

4.8 miles  800' elevation gain

best season:
mid July-Oct

1:15 drive

dogs welcome

This hike visits two beautiful
spring-fed lakes.  There are good wildflowers in summer, and good fall color in late September and October.

There are very pleasant campsites at the lakes.

2017:  the US Forest Service has done a lot of work in the last couple years on the access road and trails.  The road is much improved with new gravel and easier to locate, and the trails have been re-established with new drainage features and tread work.

This hike is in Lassen National Forest; owned by the public, managed by Lassen National Forest. Backpacking welcomed; campfires welcomed except late Summer & early Fall.
