best season: 2:00 drive dogs welcome A long hike through the woods, mostly in the Bucks Lake Wilderness. Special treat of Spanish Peak offers views north to Lassen. Wildflowers can be excellent in July. May be snow Nov-June, weather is often nice in Oct but nights are long. So we recommend this backpack trip July-Sept
This hike is in Plumas National Forest; owned by the public,
managed by Plumas National Forest. Backpacking welcomed;
campfires welcomed except late Summer & early Fall.
